We're the first collegiate hackathon dedicated to blockchain and cryptocurrencies. Spend a weekend with us and join the ranks of a rapidly growing number of outstanding developers and entrepeneurs building on the future of the way we look at money. No experience with bitcoin or cryptocurrency technology is needed.
Here's what we've got planned.
And of course, we've got some prizes as well!
Bay BitHack's being held at the Innovation Lab at UC Berkeley on the weekend of 2-3 April. Everyone's welcome. Come through!
Bitcoin is a currency. It's a technology. It's a protocol of the future.
Bitcoin is a decentralized peer to peer online currency that can be sent and received by anyone in the world, relying on computers to control the transfer and creation of money without human intervention. This results in negligible transaction fees, no government corruption, and lightning-speed transfer of your digital property.
All students (undergraduate, graduate, or high school students over the age of 18) may attend Bay BitHack. We welcome students from all disciplines.
Yourself, a student or government ID, your laptop, chargers, and anything else you need for 24 hours of development.
Since the world of cryptocurrencies is so new, we don't expect you to come with an idea or teammates. We'll have workshops and time to help you decide what you're going to work on.
About 3 satoshis. Just kidding, Bay BitHack is free and open to all students. We'll provide you with sustenance and a space to work for the weekend.
All types of projects involving Bitcoin, cryptocurrencies, or the blockchain are welcome. Feel free to make the next big remittances solution, or a new exchange, a novel bitcoin wallet, or integrate the blockchain into the Internet of Things!
We abide by the Major League Hacking guidelines for conduct.
Please email us at firstname.lastname@example.org if you have any questions or concerns. We'll get back to you as soon as we can!
